The prize, worth a total of €7,000 (seven thousand euros), is awarded for an innovative French-language doctoral thesis that contributes to a better understanding of human trafficking, slavery systems, abolition processes and contemporary legacies in post-slavery societies, from the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean, from the end of the 15th century to the present day.
