The School of Hispanic and Iberian Studies (EHEHI), the scientific section of Casa de Velázquez, is recruiting for a twelve-month contract 17 scientific members who are developing a research project in the humanities and social sciences in relation to the areas of expertise of Casa de Velázquez (peninsular, Atlantic and Maghrebian areas, linked to the Iberian Peninsula), requiring a prolonged stay in the Iberian Peninsula.

In order to complete its team, the Institute of Sport Sciences of the University of Lausanne (ISSUL) is seeking a graduate assistant in the field of sociology of sport. Half of the working time will be devoted to personal research work for the completion of a doctoral thesis in the field of sociology of sport and gender (in connection with the World Observatory for Women and Sport). The other half of the working time is devoted to teaching and research assistance in the field of sociology of sport.

This conference will examine the instrumentalization of justice, either by prosecutors or by defendants, and the role of political trials in France since 1815 among opponents. The politicisation of trials is not a one-way street and does not always benefit those who conduct them: the aim is to observe how the accused and their political circles turn the situation to their advantage, sometimes several years later.
