The German Historical Institute (HHI) awards the ninth Franco-German History Prize for Master's theses in 2023.

The competition is open to students who have defended their Master 2 thesis (or equivalent, e.g. thesis for admission to the Staatsexamen) between January 1 and December 31, 2022, in history or a discipline related to history at an institution of higher education in France or Germany and who have received the distinction "bien" or "très bien" (in France, from 14/20 on).
