Announcement Calenda 1 402 093

This international colloquium will examine the history, practices and conservation challenges of online video games, from their earliest networked forms to contemporary models based on streaming, games-as-a-service and metaverses. By crossing historical, sociological, technical and heritage approaches, the aim is to analyze the material and cultural transformations of video games, as well as the specific challenges posed by the preservation of fundamentally collective experiences, dependent on technical infrastructures and private platforms.

The first day (08 06 2026) will take place at the École nationale des chartes - PSL and the second (09 06 2026) at the BnF (site François-Mitterrand).
