This international symposium focuses on religious practices in public space in contemporary Latin American and European contexts. It proposes to adopt a comparative and multidisciplinary perspective, around a broad definition of the notion of public space: both the shared urban or rural space through which the public transits, and the institutions within which the public is represented and socialized. Putting the notion of belief at a distance, this call values a corporeal, material and performative approach to religious practices.
