Online 21 02 2024

Announcement Calenda 1136171

Created in 1973 within the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Comité d'histoire de la Sécurité sociale's mission is to contribute to a better understanding of the history of Social Security and, more broadly, of social protection from the Ancien Régime to the present day, to encourage scientific work and to ensure or assist its dissemination.

In this spirit, each year the History Committee rewards theses and master's-level works, completed within the last three years, relating to the history of social protection in the broadest sense (including unemployment and social action), including its international dimension.

Works must be written in French or English.

These works must :

  • relate to the history of social protection in the broadest sense (including unemployment and social action), including its international dimension,
  • be completed within the last three years,
  • be written in French or English.

As the prizes awarded to theses are intended to encourage their publication, the jury will not consider theses that have already been published or are in the process of being published.

In 2024, four prizes may be awarded by the History Committee, for theses devoted to unpublished historical research and master's theses. The total prize is €7,000.
