The protected adult facing criminal justice - Conference (in person) April 7, 2023 - University of Caen-Normandy (registration)

On-line 16 03 2023

(Announcement Calenda 1053210)

The civil law applicable to protected adults has been the subject of recurrent studies since the law of 5 March 2007. The apprehension of the protected adult by the criminal law is less known, both as a victim and as a person suspected or prosecuted. Neither the Criminal Code nor the Code of Criminal Procedure contains any special provisions for protected adults who are victims of crime. However, he or she may fall into the broader category of "vulnerable person", a specific quality required as a precondition, constitutive element or aggravating circumstance of certain offences. In addition to the papers on the main themes of this conference, this study day will bring together professionals, judges, lawyers, medical experts and legal representatives for the protection of adults, to discuss the most sensitive cases.
