Fifteen years after the 2006 reform, the law of securities has been reformed once again, with the ordinance of September 15, 2021, which came into force on January 1, 2022. If the long-awaited reform of surety bonds is a major aspect of the ordinance, real securities are not left out. The reform has three objectives, as stated in the Report to the President of the Republic: to reinforce legal security, to increase the efficiency of the law of securities and to make French law more attractive, particularly from an economic point of view. The day of March 24, 2023 proposes to present this reform of the law of security interests and to question its effectiveness in the light of current law but also of historical returns.
