Whilst the governance of artificial intelligence (AI) is largely being shaped behind closed doors, away from public debate, this international conference aims to rethink the social contract in the age of AI. Its aim is to understand how the legitimacy of technological choices can be grounded in citizen participation, rather than simply in agreements between stakeholders. It will bring together theoretical and empirical research on health, education, work and algorithmic governance in Geneva on 18 June 2027.
