Calenda Announcement 1,426,869 (excerpts)

This study day explores the relationships between visual arts, cinema, censorship, exile, and politics of visibility in North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. It invites reflection on contemporary artistic practices confronted by political violence, conflicts, forced displacement, authoritarian regimes, and the forms of resistance they invent. Researchers, artists, and practitioners are invited to submit proposals addressing the aesthetic, political, and memorial dimensions of these creative works, both in the countries concerned and within the diasporas.
