This call for papers focuses on social support through sports and aims to analyze the issues involved from a social science perspective. In particular, it examines the use of sports among vulnerable populations and its objectives in terms of employment, health, social integration, and education. Three research areas are proposed: an analysis of the political dimensions of these programs, a study of organizations and “socio-sport” public policy, and a rigorous examination of their effects, without being limited to an evaluative approach. An international perspective, particularly toward the Anglo-Saxon field of “Sport for Development,” is also encouraged.
