(Announcement Calenda 1006685)

The main missions of the Foundation for the Memory of Slavery are to develop knowledge and transmission of the history of slavery, the slave trade and its abolition as an integral part of the history of France (France, Africa, the Americas, the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean); to bring memories together by promoting the cultural, artistic and human heritage of this history; to fight against discrimination and to contribute to national cohesion.

In order to develop research on slavery, the slave trade, its abolition and its legacy, the Foundation for the Memory of Slavery offers financial aid to legal entities to disseminate the results of research or to facilitate access to sources, all in three forms:

  • Aid for the organization of symposiums or scientific events;
  • Aid for scientific publication or translation (conference proceedings, essays, collective works, etc.) ;
  • Aid for the inventory, the production of online databases and/or the digitization of collections or documentary resources that are not easily accessible.
