Framework

The Fondation Tilsit-Institut de France awards two prizes of 20,000 euros each year, one for administration and one for diplomacy.

The Prix de la Fondation Tilsit-Institut de France pour l'Administration, in reference to Napoléon Bonaparte's work in this field, aims to reward work or achievements relating to French administration, its history or law, or in favor of improving France's territorial organization.

The Prix de la Fondation Tilsit-Institut de France pour la Diplomatie, in reference to the work of Count Alexandre Colonna Walewski, who was ambassador and Minister of Foreign Affairs, aims to reward work or achievements relating to French diplomacy, its history and current realities, or in favor of the influence of French culture in Europe and the world.

The jury and the Foundation's Board of Directors will give preference to the most promising research work presented by young researchers. The doctoral thesis must be defended before the end of the call for applications.
