While trade unionism aims to organize workers, it is not primarily structured along generational lines. Nevertheless, the issue of youth is one that trade unionists cannot avoid. Organized by the CGT Institute of Social History, in collaboration with the Triangle Research Laboratory (University of Lyon 2), the Center for the History of Contemporary Worlds (University of Paris 1), and Codhos, this conference aims to explore both what the labor movement thinks about young people, does for young people, and offers to young people, and, conversely, what young people think about and do with the labor movement. It proposes to examine this still largely overlooked relationship through six key areas.
