The ANR URBALTOUR (Subaltern urbanizations in the tourist mountains of South and South-East Asia) analyses the convergences between urban and tourist logics based on high altitude resorts founded during the colonial era in India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia. Within the framework of this project, two post-doctoral contracts are proposed. The first one, for a duration of twelve months, will study two highland resorts from the colonial period to the present day from both an urban and a tourism perspective in Malaysia (Cameron Highlands) and Indonesia. The second, which will last eighteen months, will consist of working on the study of highland resorts during the colonial period from both an urban and a tourist perspective in South and Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Dutch East Indies, French Indochina, British India, Ceylon).
