Multiple social structures perpetuate the invisibility and underprotection of women’s economic activity. This vulnerability is evident in unpaid care work and informal work as well as in the new models of the digital economy. Furthermore, access to institutional professional settings does not guarantee equity, as women there systematically face wage disparities, hierarchical barriers, and various forms of discrimination. It is therefore necessary to examine both the perceptions of women’s work and the frameworks that govern them.
