1 Summary of the project
The Groupement d'Intérêt Scientifique (GIS) "Jeu et Sociétés" is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year with its partners/founders (four universities in the Paris region - Paris Nanterre, Sorbonne Paris Nord, Sorbonne Université, Paris Cité - and the Française des Jeux). This anniversary is an opportunity for the group to organize a prize for two books on gaming.
This special prize will be awarded to two monographic works on gaming, whatever the theme, disciplinary field or nationality of the author.
A first prize of 2,000 euros and a second prize of 1,000 euros will be awarded in autumn 2024 by the members of the GIS "Jeu et Sociétés".
2 Eligibility criteria
The prize is not open to collective works, but to monographs of a scientific nature, whether doctoral theses or published works. Nevertheless, the manuscript/book must :
- be written entirely in French
- be less than 5 years old at the date of submission (thesis defense or date of 1st publication).
The candidate for the prize must :
- be able to receive the endowment via a research organization or association (the GIS cannot pay an endowment to an individual)
- hold at least a Master 2 or DEA degree from an academic institution
