- A little courage at the outset to live the experience of a lifetime... But we're here to dispel any fears or apprehensions you may have.
- 2 years of law
- Be autonomous and reactive to facilitate your mobility.
Once you've been selected, your international relations department will notify us of your appointment by e-mail. An e-mail confirming your selection and a welcome pack is sent to your e-mail address provided by your coordinator. In this welcome pack, your mobility to Aix-en-Provence is explained, along with all the documents you need to provide us with:
- The Learning Agreement. This document must come from your home university and be signed by your university, our university and yourself.

One department, one coordinator, one single contact will be dedicated to you throughout your studies and will manage all aspects of your mobility (preparation before you come, processing your requests by e-mail, managing your accommodation, personal questions, exam organization, contact with your university, administrative and pedagogical questions and registrations, integration and any requests or concerns you may have).

Housing
We offer our exchange students the opportunity to stay in a university residence, if they request it through Moveon. The university residences are about a 15-minute walk from the Faculty of Law and 10 minutes from downtown Aix. Rooms are renovated with private sanitary facilities and a shared kitchen. Accommodation is paid for by semester, and costs around €1,500 per semester. Wifi is free and parking can be rented.
University accommodation is a unique opportunity, as the city of Aix is very expensive. Once you've applied on Moveon, you won't be able to refuse accommodation, as it's an opportunity that many students would like to have!
However, if you don't want university accommodation, we'll help you find private accommodation in our beautiful city.

Integration program
Integration week:
Every year, Aix-Marseille Université welcomes over 3,500 new students from all over the world. It's very important for AMU to give them a quality welcome and help them integrate easily into their new environment. The integration week is one of the welcome programs developed by AMU's International Relations Department. The aim of these few days of integration is to enable international students who have just arrived in France to discover the university's various departments and to familiarize themselves with the campus. The integration week is also a time for meeting new people and getting to know each other better.
Welcome evening:
Organized every year, the welcome evening brings together hundreds of students for cocktails and live music. A highlight of the new academic year, it reflects AMU's determination to facilitate the integration of international students and to give them a place of honor.
ELSA : TheEuropean Law Students' Association (ELSA) often organizes an integration weekend for students from the association.

Tailor-made knowledge testing
The FDSP's International Relations Department offers an examination organization especially for you. Exchange students have 2 exam sessions per semester, and are assessed at the end of each semester by oral exams (and/or written exams for DU Kent, Exeter and Dublin students).
A 2nd session (rattrapage) may be organized, if the student has obtained a mark of 5 to 9/20 in the 1st session and has been present at session 1. To pass the subject and obtain ECTS credits, the student must have a mark equal to or higher than 10 out of 20 points in the examination. No compensation is possible between exams.
An official transcript will be sent by e-mail to your university coordinator, who will convert the French grades into your language and evaluation grid.
The Faculty of Law offers around 50 subjects in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th years. Exchange students attend the same lectures as local students. Each 1st, 2nd or 3rd year subject is between 24 and 30 hours of classes per semester. Each subject in the 4th year (Master's) is equal to 27.30 lecture hours per semester.
The number of credits is marked on the
There is no course code.
Only the courses in this course offer are available to you.
We have 5 courses taught in English in Master 1, semester 1.
Courses marked with an asterisk include tutorials, but you can only access the lectures, not the tutorials.

The study contract
Exchange students must draw up their study contract according to the specialty in which they are registered at their home faculty. This is the most important document of the year. It is included in the Erasmus kit provided by the sending university. The choice of courses is up to the home faculty and the student. The study contract must be approved and signed by the pedagogical coordinator at your faculty, the FDSP pedagogical coordinator and the student. It must then be uploaded to the Moveon file.
A modification (During the mobility) is possible when the student arrives. -
Course content
Please note that the content is not up to date, as the new course offering was implemented in September. Some of the courses in the old course offering are sometimes the same, which is why these course contents are still available.- Licence 3

Tutorial
Tutorials (TD) are small classes (maximum 30 students) that take a more practical and detailed approach to lectures.
Only students from the University College of Dublin, the University of Exeter and the University of Kent enrolled in the DU "French Law Studies for Foreign Students" are authorized to take certain tutorials. As an exception, students from Sheffield and Oslo are authorized to follow certain tutorials, but under specific conditions to be determined by your coordinator. Each tutorial represents 3 ECTS.
Students whose university is not linked to ours by an international cooperation agreement can register as "freemovers" in the Programme d'Études Juridiques pour Étudiants Étrangers (PEJE) and spend a year or a semester studying at the Faculty of Law and Political Science. If the application is accepted, the "freemover" will be considered exactly like an exchange student and will benefit from almost the same services. We will provide administrative and pedagogical support. They will not, however, have access to university accommodation, and will have to pay registration fees.

- Consult all the information and carry out some of your formalities online before arriving in France
- Ask your questions by chat, WhatsApp or telephone
Livin FranceThis service is multilingual (French, English, Spanish...), so don't hesitate to use it - it's completely free!
The principle is simple: to put an international student who has come to study at Aix-Marseille University in contact with a local student to facilitate his/her integration.
For godchildren:
- To facilitate the integration of international students and enable them to :
- Meet French people and get out of the Erasmus circle,
- Discover French culture through the eyes of a French person,
- Practice French and slang,
- Get help with courses, spelling, ideas for outings...
- Visit your sponsor's family/friends or region
A sponsorship program has been set up at AMU: the Buddy System
All the mobile student has to do is open an account on the Buddy application, and we'll take care of finding him or her a French friend.
Only etu.univ-amu.fr e-mails are accepted.
The Buddy Program is like friendship: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but it's worth a try, because "nothing ventured, nothing gained".
For sponsors:
Above all, you can do it because you want to, and in a selfless way (no bonus). Having a friend from a foreign country allows you to :
- Get to know another culture,
- Open your mind and give you the desire to see the world,
- Make new friends
- Practice or learn a foreign language.
How do I go about it?
Fill in your Buddy System profile as fully as possible: indicate your motivations/personality in the comment section. Note "Does not represent a bonus" in the comment section too.
If the referral represents a bonus, you must :
- Put the sponsorship on your IP (be careful not to bet too much on this bonus as there are very few international students registered). From September 20 (S1) or January 20 (S2), if you still don't have a sponsored student, change your bonus. The IP on your ENT is done much later.
- Fill in your Buddy System profile as fully as possible: don't hesitate to describe your motivations and personality in the comments section. Enter your real first and last names. Note "represents a Bonus" in the comment section.
- The Buddy System will do the matching for you, so you're totally free to organize it as you see fit. It's up to you to make the exchange as rewarding as possible.
- A report will be requested at the end of the semester (no need to write to me, it will be sent to you). Please fill it in as honestly as possible.
- Your bonus points are automatically forwarded to the school.
