This call for papers focuses on the notion of permission in law, understood as a category. The event aims to question its theoretical status, diversity and functions, distinguishing in particular the different forms of permissive acts (authorization, tolerance, empowerment). It also aims to analyze the growing role of authorization mechanisms in contemporary legal systems, marked by logics of prior control. At the crossroads of general legal theory and the branches of positive law, the aim is to clarify the place of permission in the typology of norms and its practical implications.
