The German Historical Institute (HIA) is a research center of the public Max Weber Foundation - Deutsche Geisteswissenschaftliche Institute im Ausland. We work under the motto "Research - Mediation - Qualification" in the field of French, Franco-German and West European history from antiquity to the present day and play a leading role in mediating between Germany and France. Digital history and sub-Saharan Africa are complementary research areas.
We are recruiting a researcher for our Department of Modern History as of June 1, 2023 (negotiable). This three-year postdoctoral fellowship, which can be extended up to a maximum of five years, is intended to provide a qualification for the completion of a research project (habilitation thesis or book project).
