  Today, disability studies constitute a diversified and interdisciplinary field of research based on the desiré to understand the notion of disability through the tools, methods and categories of analysis of the human and social sciences, considering disability as a political, cultural and social object. More recently, the emergence of internal critiques has contributed to the rise of a new constellation of work: critical disability studies. Critical disability studies offer unprecedented angles of approach for apprehending a host of themes (citizenship, issues of recognition, processes of exclusion, social ties and self-help networks, etc.).

  This dossier focuses on the theme of "The foreign policies of African states: regimes and narratives". The main issue explores the following question: how do African states construct and legitimize their place in a recomposing world, and to what extent does the nature of their political regime shape their foreign policy orientations? This issue focuses on a thematic and comparative approach, anchored in the contemporary period with the historical depths necessary to understand trajectories. The aim is to draw up a typology of the foreign policies of African states, based on three analytical dimensions: stated objectives, mobilized narratives and realized actions.

  The Arab uprisings of 2011 ushered in sequences of political transformation whose contrasting trajectories continue to challenge the social sciences. Fifteen years on, the variety of outcomes observed - authoritarian restorations, unfinished transitions, state collapses - calls for a critical review of the analytical tools mobilized to think about change in the Arab and Muslim worlds. This study day will examine, from an interdisciplinary perspective, the notions of crisis, transition and rupture, questioning their uses, their limits and the conceptual alternatives likely to give a better account of configurations where instability is not an episode but a lasting condition.

  The journal Sociologie et sociétés is preparing a dossier entitled "La ville comme épreuve. Compétences citadines et fabrication ordinaire du social". This issue proposes to analyze urban life from the point of view of the link between urban trials and urban skills. Housing, infrastructure, mobility and public space are examined as places where social inequalities take shape, and where residents develop practical responses. In this context, "urbanity" refers to the situated know-how required to establish a foothold, get around, access services and occupy space. Contributions should articulate an identifiable ordeal with the skills mobilized to respond to it.

  This international colloquium (Université Grenoble Alpes, June 2027) offers a comparative analysis of the artifacts worn by prisoners - badges, armbands, uniforms - as material devices of classification and hierarchization in prison. Crossing fields from all continents, it represents the first systematic comparison of these objects, in order to analyze the diversity of institutional, legal and material configurations in which they are embedded. The project brings together sociology, anthropology, political science, history, law and geography, as well as the perspectives of research and civil society.

Indeed, the continent has an abundance of resources, both natural and human. There are major mineral deposits, such as gold, diamonds, oil, gas, cobalt, uranium, bauxite, copper, coltan, manganese, iron and so on. There is no shortage of human resources to exploit these resources and accelerate development. The continent abounds in qualified human skills, such as engineers, technicians, doctors and professors. This congress on operational philosophy will examine a crucial question: can administrative ethics contribute to reducing corruption in African states?
