This study day aims to analyze the transformations of the social worlds of fishing, whether artisanal or industrial, and whether practiced in maritime, lacustrine or other aquatic spaces. From a comparative perspective, our aim is to bring together work from ethnographic research both "on board" and carried out in the land-based spaces of fish trade and processing, and in the places in which they take place. We will build a collective reflection aimed at understanding how fishing societies negotiate their existence in contexts marked by ecological uncertainty, regulatory pressure, technological mutations and market recompositions.
