The Centre d'histoire du XIXe siècle (UR 3550 Université Paris 1 - Sorbonne Université), in partnership with the Société d'histoire de la révolution de 1848 et des révolutions du XIXe siècle, wishing to pay homage to the memory of Professor Dominique Kalifa (1957-2020) and wishing to promote the history of the 19th century in its broadest sense, has decided to create an annual prize intended to reward a doctoral dissertation on the history of the 19th century (1800-1939).

The Centre d'histoire du XIXe siècle (Université Paris 1 / Sorbonne Université) and the Revue d'histoire du XIXe siècle (Société d'histoire de la révolution de 1848 et des révolutions du XIXe siècle) wish to encourage and promote research in 19th century history. To this end, they have decided to award a prize each year for the best Master's thesis on the history of the 19th century (1818-1914), regardless of the area concerned.

The thesis must be written in French and defended between June 1st and September 30th of the academic year.
