For its ninth issue, the Revue internationale environnementale semestrielle (RIES) from ASPROBIO AGM (an association for the protection of biodiversity and the adoption of marker gestures) invites us to reflect on and explore the highlights of current environmental events. The magazine therefore invites readers to explore and question the environmental news of the last six months and the following six months. Papers on recent world events are welcome. Papers may address the topics listed or any other subject, depending on scientific disciplines and methods. They may cross several axes.

With only a few months to go before the next American presidential election, and less than a year to go before the 47th President of the United States is inaugurated, a relatively unknown figure on the American political landscape deserves special attention: the Vice-President of the United States. A study of the American political system reveals a striking paradox: the Vice-President occupies a singular position in the country's institutions, being both a little-known figure and yet very close to the highest office, namely the Presidency. While the world's spotlight is currently focused on the next tenant of the White House, the organizers of this symposium have chosen to turn their attention to the somewhat neglected institution of the Vice-President of the United States.

This 2024-2025 seminar by GREPs (Groupe de recherche sur les écrans et leurs publics) examines the dynamics of confrontation that run through the worlds of cinema and audiovisual media. Placed in context, they reveal the permanent reconfiguration of power relations within multiple social spaces, as well as the intensity of mechanisms for concentrating attention and disseminating certain positions (Quemener 2018), "where the antagonisms that work on the collective are expressed in sometimes virulent and spectacular ways" (Devars and Taieb 2023). As such, polemics and controversies cannot leave anyone indifferent, and are valuable fields of investigation for many disciplines.

After a successful first edition in Montreal in March 2024, the COLIBEX Chair is once again organizing a colloquium on emerging research on freedom of expression. For its next French edition, to be held in Paris on January 23 and 24, 2025, the colloquium aims to promote recent or ongoing work by doctoral students, young PhDs and post-docs from a variety of disciplines (political science, law, sociology, history, linguistics, ethnology, literature, etc.). The aim of the colloquium is to encourage dialogue within the emerging research community, in order to shed new light on the issues surrounding freedom of expression.

The aim of this dossier is to document the impact of the dualisation of public services, on the transformation of jobs in public services, on the organization of work in the various services, and hence on the professional practices of agents as well as the representations they have of their work and their missions. This issue aims to bring together multi-disciplinary contributions in the field covered by the journal Travail et Emploi (sociology, economics, law, management, history, political science), with the ambition of aggregating an unpublished corpus of empirical investigations (both qualitative and quantitative) in a variety of fields within public organizations. Transnational perspectives will be emphasized.

The world is in the midst of a "polycrisis", a tangle of crises that spans global systems. The term "polycrisis" illustrates how global crises are interconnected, intertwined and mutually aggravating. If this concept is used with greater clarity and precision than has been the case to date, it could provide essential new insights into our current situation. For this reason, the European University of Valencia is calling for papers on the following topics: conceptual approaches to polycrisis, the impact of polycrisis on the economy, artificial intelligence in the context of polycrisis, new inequalities generated by polycrisis, legal and political responses to the challenge of polycrisis, the environment as cause and "victim" of polycrisis, and the impact of polycrisis on security and human rights.

The innovative Sports Atlas is an observatory of sports at different geographical scales. A tool for analyzing the sporting world and the dynamics that run through it, without claiming to be exhaustive, it brings together multiple contributions from researchers in geography and sociology, but also in anthropology, law, economics, history, political science, geopolitics, information and communication sciences, STAPS, as well as experts in digital and dynamic cartography. Going beyond a simple inventory and study of competitive sports, the project is part of a multi-disciplinary and complementary approach to understanding and representing sporting cultures, sport-related issues and their forms of spatialization. A cross-disciplinary project for cartographic development and scientific dissemination aimed at a wider (extra-academic) public, it is certainly inspired by previous reflections and productions, but intends to be an innovative project, drawing on a variety of materials, addressing a multiplicity of themes and questions, and promoting scientific and civic debate.

If the stereotype categorizes and simplifies the other culture, the other people, the other nation, the other religion, the other language, isn't it symptomatic of ethnocentrism? It would open the door to xenophobia and racism. But how can we explain the presence of positive, even rewarding stereotypes? If so, wouldn't it be a sign of friendship, respect, fraternity and admiration? Of course, these stereotypes are not without their faults either. The aim of this study day is to create a collective reflection on cultural stereotypes from an interdisciplinary perspective. The aim is to examine the circulation and use of stereotypes in different disciplines and linguistic and cultural areas. This call for papers is aimed primarily at young researchers (PhD students, post-docs, Masters students).

Over the past decade, the concept of decolonization has circulated not only in academic circles, but also in the political arena and activism in the global Northwest. To what extent do decolonization efforts carry the potential for food justice, and in what ways are African diasporas concerned with the decolonization of food systems and involved in efforts to make their food products more accessible? This dossier seeks to explore the socio-cultural, economic and political aspects of the food habits of African diasporas. The focus is on the dynamics and power plays shaping African food systems today, and how African diasporas connect to and engage with their food traditions.

This special issue of Temporalités aims to explore agricultural temporalities, both contemporary and past, in Europe and the rest of the world. These will be considered in their professional dimensions, integrating as far as possible the times of training and retirement. We'll also be looking at how these temporalities relate to those of the family, health, trade unions and associations, as well as upstream and downstream industries. The possible differences in temporalities according to the orientation of production between organic label, reasoned or conventional agriculture would also be interesting to explore for each of them or in their combinations.
