Smart grids are often seen as decision aids for defining electricity supply and demand levels to guide energy trajectories. They reflect the combination of digital transition and energy transition, enabling real-time management of electricity supply. They are all the more essential given the intermittent nature of renewable energy production. As early as 2011, the European Commission saw smart grids as the backbone of a low-carbon energy future. But the success of the energy transition depends on the relevance of the energy policies implemented, and on consumer acceptability. In this sense, the energy transition is also the transition of a socio-technical system. This call for papers examines the social reception of smart grids, the perception of their uses and their deployment model. This special issue is intended to illustrate the wide range of social science research (action research, fundamental research, participatory research) into existing systems and networks.

The aim of this dossier is to document the impact of the dualisation of public services, on the transformation of jobs in public services, on the organization of work in the various services, and hence on the professional practices of agents as well as the representations they have of their work and their missions. This issue aims to bring together multi-disciplinary contributions in the field covered by the journal Travail et Emploi (sociology, economics, law, management, history, political science), with the ambition of aggregating an unpublished corpus of empirical investigations (both qualitative and quantitative) in a variety of fields within public organizations. Transnational perspectives will be emphasized.

The aim of this symposium is to analyze contemporary equal opportunity policies - or the lack of them - in the English-speaking world (including the United Kingdom, the United States, India, Australia and South Africa) and in France, in an attempt to identify typologies and propose a retrospective and prospective analysis of often controversial preferential policies.

Managing "equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility" (EDIA) in the workplace is not a new issue in Canada: federal employment equity legislation now dates back over thirty years. However, in recent years, in the wake of the Aboriginal Reconciliation Program and the #MeToo and Black Lives Matters movements, there seems to have been a growing interest in this issue. This craze is part of an ever-changing world of work: changes due, among other things, to the irruption of information and communication technologies in labour relations, the aging of the Canadian population and labour shortages. This raises the question of EDIA's place in the face of these constant changes in the workplace.

For its March 2025 issue, the online journal L'Ordinaire des Amériques (ORDA) is calling for contributions on the theme of "Liberalism, neoliberalism, illiberalism and civil rights in the United States". This issue will be coordinated by Nicolas Gachon (Université Paul Valéry- Montpellier 3). This issue seeks to contextualize and exemplify what are often theoretical abstractions about liberalism, neoliberalism and illiberalism in the United States.

There's no denying that the Atlantic area occupies a crucial geostrategic position on the international stage. An area that brings together several advanced and emerging economies with strong potential for sustainable, integrative cooperation. Thanks to its demographic weight, and its natural, energy, mining, agricultural and technological resources... These resources make the region a cluster of strategic interests and development opportunities. The main objective of this symposium is to provide an understanding of the general context in which the idea of creating an African Atlantic area capable of cooperating and interacting with the other American and European Atlantic areas developed, as well as the context in which the Moroccan initiative to create this African Atlantic area emerged. There is also a need to invest in the opportunities for cooperation and development offered by the African Atlantic space to all the countries in this area.

These concepts are closely linked in an era of global change and the challenges they underpin, particularly in view of the climatic upheavals affecting our societies worldwide, which are forcing us to rethink our ways of understanding and practicing the territory.

In the 1960s, living conditions and urban policies clearly became an object of public concern and a political issue. In several European countries, residents, urban professionals, researchers and political activists began to criticize current urban development methods, and also took action in the field to oppose them and build alternatives. The simultaneity or proximity in time of these urban social movements, and the similarities in their strategies, objectives and forms of protest, show the interest of approaching them not only from an international but also a transnational perspective. This study day is conceived as an initial phase of investigation into these circulations, designed to map them, assess their scope and identify their modalities and traces.

Seaports are strategic territories, representing essential issues of sovereignty and competitiveness. With 90% of international trade transported, sea transport plays a central role in the functioning of globalization, and is essential to the globalization of companies. This is all the more true in the case of most developing countries. The growth of maritime transport raises important questions about globalization, trade, development, environmental sustainability, energy security and geopolitics, to name but a few. The aim of this symposium is to compare different disciplinary approaches to these issues.
