More than ever, cross-disciplinary competencies, or soft skills, are essential for enhanced employability. An open, dynamic approach is needed to highlight the growing importance of these skills in the modern job market.

For its March 2025 issue, the online journal L'Ordinaire des Amériques (ORDA) is calling for contributions on the theme of "Liberalism, neoliberalism, illiberalism and civil rights in the United States". This issue will be coordinated by Nicolas Gachon (Université Paul Valéry- Montpellier 3). This issue seeks to contextualize and exemplify what are often theoretical abstractions about liberalism, neoliberalism and illiberalism in the United States.

2024 marks the end of a new "super electoral cycle" in Latin America. In the space of three years, thirteen presidential elections have been held in eleven countries, and five are due to take place between now and the end of the year, some of them eagerly awaited (Mexico, Venezuela, Paraguay). Thirty years after the era of dictatorship, the widespread exercise of the right to vote and the regular holding of free and competitive elections in most countries in the region therefore seem to corroborate the optimism of Francés Hagopian and Scott Mainwaring's thesis on Latin American democratic transitions and the entrenchment of democracy. Yet, despite all these advances, several indicators suggest that the democratization process in the region is moving forward with caution. Against this backdrop, this colloquium aims to reflect on the state of democracy in Latin America, its prospects and the issues at stake, through the study of concrete cases.

With only a few months to go before the next American presidential election, and less than a year to go before the 47th President of the United States is inaugurated, a relatively unknown figure on the American political landscape deserves special attention: the Vice-President of the United States. A study of the American political system reveals a striking paradox: the Vice-President occupies a singular position in the country's institutions, being both a little-known figure and yet very close to the highest office, namely the Presidency. While the world's spotlight is currently focused on the next tenant of the White House, the organizers of this symposium have chosen to turn their attention to the somewhat neglected institution of the Vice-President of the United States.

This special issue of Belgéo attaches importance to time (past, present and future) to see how the context of ecological and climatic crises, characteristic of the Anthropocene, is renewing or not the management, governance, uses and development of water, watercourses, wetlands and flood-prone areas.

Smart grids are often seen as decision aids for defining electricity supply and demand levels to guide energy trajectories. They reflect the combination of digital transition and energy transition, enabling real-time management of electricity supply. They are all the more essential given the intermittent nature of renewable energy production. As early as 2011, the European Commission saw smart grids as the backbone of a low-carbon energy future. But the success of the energy transition depends on the relevance of the energy policies implemented, and on consumer acceptability. In this sense, the energy transition is also the transition of a socio-technical system. This call for papers examines the social reception of smart grids, the perception of their uses and their deployment model. This special issue is intended to illustrate the wide range of social science research (action research, fundamental research, participatory research) into existing systems and networks.

This call for papers for issue 25 of the journal Politiques de communication explores the role of the media in the mediatization of the "sexist and sexual violence cases" scheduled for spring 2025. It examines how the format of the affair influences the mediatization of such violence, while also analyzing how the "affair form" configures media frames. Cases of gender-based violence, comparable to public health scandals, offer a prism through which to study the media's construction of public problems. The dossier aims to answer the question of how the "affair form" and cases of mediatized sexual violence interact.

The scientific project of this dossier is to place the juvenile trajectories of minors in prison at the heart of the interrogations, by considering the ways in which age, gender, class and social relations of race vary the prison experiences and more globally the biographical trajectories of these young people. The aim is to examine the link between the singular experience of incarceration and the social relations of age: detained minors have the specificity of being adolescents who are encouraged to become adults while being locked up. Starting from the premise that the experience of prison cannot be thought of as a simple parenthesis in an adolescent trajectory, the aim of this dossier is to question what conditions of incarceration produce on juvenile trajectories.

The aim of this workshop is to explore new ways of writing the history of homosexuality based on judicial archives. We observe that the disciplinary field of the "history of homosexualities" has evolved considerably over the last twenty years. Since Georges Chauncey's Gay New York (1994) and Florence Tamagne'sHistoire de l'homosexualité en Europe (2000), the history of homosexuality has relied on the multiplication of sources (press, literature, diaries, police reports, medical literature) to draw up broad portraits of homosexual culture. Today, historians prefer to focus on one type of archive: the judicial archive. The aim of our workshop is to address this historiographical evolution and measure its consequences for our field of study.

The International Military Justice Forum (IMJF) is a forum for debate, meetings and exchanges that aims to pool and advance our knowledge of military justice around the world. Its primary aim is to provide an account of the diversity of military justice systems, highlighting their salient features, exploring their history and highlighting current developments. Lastly, the event will enable us to imagine together what the future of military law might look like, in the light of technological and digital developments that are transforming conflict.
