Sharing and occupying the public space of the gentrified neighborhood: a reading of Jacques Rancière - INRS (Montreal -Canada) - Round table (hybrid) May 18, 2022 (registration)

(Calenda announcement 991769)

Drawing on the concepts and methods of the philosopher Jacques Rancière, the proposal consists in conceiving the process of gentrification as a scene of sharing and disagreement. A scene on which the paradox of a constrained access to housing and a shared occupation of public space occurs. Three terms from Jacques Rancière's conceptual landscape help us to circumscribe the scene of gentrification misunderstanding: the sharing of sensibility, the equality of intelligences and dissensus.

Food policies in France - Sciences Po (Paris) - Conference June 23 and 24, 2022 - registration required

(Announcement Calenda 987209)

Food crystallizes many debates: waste, product prices, producer remuneration, effects on health, climate and biodiversity, vegetarianism, precariousness... Often approached through the prism of agricultural policies, food policies have been little analyzed by social science research. The POLAL colloquium, which is the result of a project funded by the French National Research Agency, will examine how food policies are formed in France today. Who are the actors and the instruments? What are the stakes and how are they debated?
