In the countries of the South, particularly on the African continent, recent years have seen numerous attempts to modernize mobility systems. However, these mobility models and the infrastructures that support them are rapidly being overtaken by unexpected uses, new technologies, new vehicles and new means of mobility, which can contradict these plans. This call for papers from EchoGéo aims to bring together contributions that present different examples and visions of planning, governance and the actual uses of different infrastructures and forms of mobility on the African continent. They will highlight the conflictual dimension of infrastructures and forms of mobility, as well as the importance of taking into account usage and mobility behaviours, the socio-cultural inertias that govern the spaces they cross or the impact they can have on the horizon of inclusive urbanism.

This one-day workshop aims to explore how the European Union places territories at the heart of its policies and instruments for tackling environmental issues at Community level, and how territories in the Member States are taking advantage of these European policies and instruments to manage specific socio-ecosystems.

The aim of this study day will be twofold. It will attempt to identify the visible and invisible, sometimes fleeting and elusive, spaces/interstices occupied by the religious (places of worship, soup kitchens, Bible readings, Sunday schools, cyberspace, etc.) in urban areas; while at the same time questioning the strategies and creativity of those involved in religious and spiritual missions who strive to make the religious visible in urban space. Conversely, what spaces do institutional, political, economic and social players grant (or are they prepared to grant) to the religious?

Expected contributions on the issue of urban sprawl in the Mediterranean basin and in relation to the environment will focus on case studies with the aim of deciphering urbanization processes in terms of ways of living. They involve examining the mechanisms of design-realization-anthropization of space, including changes in planning principles and social practices. The "co-evolution" of interdependencies between the management and planning of needs, environmental quality and the quality of life, integrates several themes of reflection that relate to different issues and logics of planning (urban planning instruments, actors, constraints, standards, regulation...).

The staff of cultural institutions are confronted with "local collections" which, under this or other names, bring together collections relating to the territory that the institution polarizes. The delimitations of these collections are as complex as those of the territories themselves: administrative space, often shifting historical boundaries, the space experienced by the inhabitants, from the neighborhood to the town, the department or the region. What do these local collections have to say about territories? How can libraries, archives or museums document territories and give them a reality? What is the relationship between literature, culture, geography and history?

This thematic issue of the journal Éthique publique is devoted to the theme of ethics alerts, also known as signalling, denunciation or whistleblowing. Ethical whistleblowing involves revealing illegal or illegitimate practices such as corruption, fraud or harm to public health, to entities capable of intervening to put a stop to such practices. Now recognized as an essential tool in the fight against reprehensible behavior, ethical whistleblowing is gaining in visibility through high-profile ethical scandals that highlight the essential role played by a whistleblower. This issue aims to enrich our understanding of ethical whistleblowing by exploring its own motives, its regulatory framework, the legal protections to which whistleblowers are entitled in the face of frequent reprisals, the organizational factors influencing the effectiveness of whistleblowing, and its impacts, both positive and negative, on whistleblowers, their entourage and the entities targeted by their revelations.

The aim of this colloquium is to question the relevance of the expression "Letter and Spirit" in legal interpretive methods. It is open to any doctoral student or young doctor, jurist or not; the colloquium being interdisciplinary. The expression "letter and spirit" conjures up a singular paradox. It is a commonplace in legal cultures, yet a blind spot in legal theory. Year after year, numerous authors, legal studies, legal arguments and demonstrations have used this topos to structure their analyses. Excellent treatises and manuals, both past and present, use the opposition between "the letter and the spirit in law" as the basis for their demonstrations. Is it so certain that the heritage thus summoned by the juxtaposition of these terms does not require an epistemological investigation as thorough as the juxtaposition of meanings and usages that form its sedimentation? Is it so certain, in the light of advances in legal epistemology and contemporary legal science, that distinctions and oppositions between what would be the "letter" on the one hand, and the "spirit" on the other, are relevant to legal thought? The scientific meeting of October 4, 2024 is based on multiple reasons justifying the study of the relevance of the "letter and spirit" dyad in law.

Power and knowledge are inextricably linked. They nourish and engender each other, building hegemonic frameworks that fluctuate according to time, geography and culture. When one or the other is called into question, a crisis of legitimacy arises, and takes the form of contentious discourses and practices, often associated with the emergence of counter-knowledge and counter-power. The colloquium organized by the IMAGER laboratory (Institut des mondes anglophone, germanique et roman, Université Paris-Est Créteil) aims to offer a fresh look at contestation through the prism of interactions between power and knowledge. Like the various research teams that make up the laboratory, the colloquium is resolutely trans-disciplinary, and aims to highlight the work of researchers in linguistics, didactics, the arts and literature, the history of ideas and civilization.
