Each issue of Nouvelles Questions Féministes deals with a theme proposed by a coordinating group, made up of members of the magazine's editorial board and possibly external specialists. The magazine accepts off-theme proposals for the Champ libre section at all times, and reserves the Grand angle section for thematic contributions. NQF regularly issues calls for contributions on these themes, but not always, when, for example, an issue is put together following a symposium that the editorial board has deemed of interest to the magazine.

The journal NGABAN-DIBOLEL is issuing a call for interdisciplinary contributions to promote scientific reflection on farmers’ strategies for adapting to climate change, in relation to the challenges of food security, sustainable rural development, and regional resilience. This call also aims to foster dialogue among researchers, public policymakers, farmers’ organizations, development practitioners, legal experts, environmentalists, economists, geographers, sociologists, and agricultural scientists regarding current transformations in food and agricultural systems.

These doctoral workshops will provide an opportunity to examine the legal regimes governing animals. Indeed, the plural is appropriate here, as there are a multitude of legal regimes: legal scholarship tends to distinguish between animals close to humans, animals useful to humans, and wild animals. This academic event will thus facilitate discussion on the various legal frameworks governing animals and contribute to a deeper understanding of the complexity of this subject.

The socioeconomic and environmental impacts of Canada’s extractive industries, their international ramifications, and the challenges they face in the midst of a systemic environmental crisis justify the French Association for Canadian Studies (AFEC) dedicating its 50th conference to this issue. During this conference, we will examine the logic of extraction from various perspectives in order to foster dialogue among the disciplines represented within the AFEC. We will seek to understand the extent to which the dynamics of extraction—from the forestry industry to the exploitation of fossil fuels—have transformed not only ways of life but also the diverse expectations and concerns of contemporary Canadian society.

This call for papers for an edited volume on the theme: “Risk Management, Security Crises, and Disasters. Political-Strategic, Legal, and Managerial Perspectives in Cameroon,” is a project led by the Center for Political and Strategic Studies (CREPS) at the University of Yaoundé II, with support from the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) and the University of Garoua in Cameroon. By calling for contributions from academics, senior military officers, and risk management practitioners, this volume is not merely intended to describe security crises. It aims to continue working toward conceptualizing security, sharing practitioners’ experiences, and serving as a source of proposals—a strategic compass for decision-makers. As the saying goes, “To govern is to foresee.”

The journalSociologie et sociétésis preparing a special issue titled “The City as a Challenge: Urban Competencies and the Everyday Construction of Society.” This issue aims to analyze urban life through the lens of the relationship between urban challenges and urban competencies. Housing, infrastructure, mobility, and public space are addressed as settings where social inequalities take shape and where residents develop practical responses. Here, “urban citizenship” refers to situated know-how that enables people to establish roots, move about, access services, and occupy space. Contributions should link an identifiable urban challenge to the skills mobilized to address it.

Do digital technologies truly help address existing vulnerabilities? Or do they risk reinforcing certain forms of exclusion or creating new ones? Under what conditions can they help ensure effective access to care for populations most isolated from healthcare systems? We welcome submissions focusing on any national or regional experiences that shed light on the challenges of digital health in contexts of vulnerability and remote access to care (particularly in French overseas territories, Arctic regions, Africa, etc.)
