From the interpretation of constitutional norms to the imposition of colonial norms, from their use to resolve conflicts to the conflicts they themselves provoke through their application, the six sessions of this seminar each invite several guests to dwell on the issues raised by legal norms, based on their personal research subjects. What emerges are movements within, outside, against or at the frontier of the legal field, which materialize the existence of a conflict of norms.

This year's seminar retains its formula of text analysis. Devoted to questions relating to political modernity under the Ancien Régime, it will deal with current issues during sessions of reflection on bodies of sources that raise methodological and interpretive problems.
