The Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) is recruiting one PhD student to work under the supervision of Prof. Jacques Wels on the UHealth (Trade Unions and Workers' Health) project that is funded by the European Research Council (ERC). The core purpose of the PhD programme will be to address the association between workers' trajectories of union membership and mental and physical health throughout the lifecourse using a set of UK-based and international (Japan, US, Korea and Germany) longitudinal datasets.

The Comité de Liaison des Associations Dix-neuviémistes (CL 19) has created an annual prize designed to crown a doctoral thesis or postgraduate dissertation on the 19th century (1789-1914). The prize was awarded for the first time in 2016, in the spirit of CL 19, which brings together learned societies, research groups, museums, libraries and cultural institutions concerned with the study of the 19th century.

Created by the Comité national pour la mémoire de l'esclavage, since 2020 this prize has been awarded by the Fondation pour la mémoire de l'esclavage, on the decision of a jury made up of members of the foundation's Scientific Council.
